Ventilatoren und Radialverdichtern von FIMA

Fans and Radial Compressors from FIMA

FIMA relies on vibration sensors from HAUBER-Elektronik – especially in hazardous areas

FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH is a future champion for explosion-proof fans and centrifugal compressors for small flow rates, which are used as process gas or fresh air compressors in the chemical and petrochemical industries. High safety and quality standards are essential, particularly for ensuring machine protection and availability.
Vibration sensors from HAUBER-Elektronik ensure reliable machine protection and high availability by measuring vibrations and detecting imbalances at an early stage. These sensors are certified for potentially explosive environments and provide solutions for “intrinsically safe” and “flameproof enclosures”.

FIMA System 2

Typical application examples:

  • Hermetically encapsulated fans and compressors
  • Explosion-proof fans

Task: Machines and the environment

Vibrations caused by rotating forces, e.g. imbalances, constraining forces due to misalignment and foundation changes, as well as shock excitations due to bearing damage are transmitted through the bearings.
The bearing housings are therefore preferred measuring points for measuring vibrations and detecting and monitoring their causes, such as:

  • Imbalances
  • Alignment errors
  • Defective drive belts
  • Bearing damage
  • Gear and toothing faults
  • Electrical faults in the motor

Objective: What do we want to achieve?

  • Increased system availability
  • Reduced maintenance costs through early detection of potential damage
  • Extended machine service life

→ Ultimately: maximum benefit for the customer and increasing competitiveness

Boris Fritz FIMA

“HAUBER-Elektronik's vibration sensors stand out not only for their measurement accuracy and reproducibility but also for their high-quality materials and manufacturing standards. Finally, HAUBER-Elektronik’s solutions hold a leading position in hazardous area applications.
As FIMA, we look forward to continuing our long-standing business relationship and are also looking forward to the new developments.”

Technical Implementation

Layout sketch

FIMA layout sketch

Machine vibrations are transmitted to the bearings.
The bearing under the highest load is monitored here. The vibration sensor is mounted on the bearing of the attached impeller.

Determine and monitor measured values

The measured vibration velocity values are transmitted to the machine control system through the analog output.
Limit values in accordance with DIN/ISO 1816-3 are used to detect critical conditions and initiate measures to correct them.

Notes on installing sensors

The sensors are firmly mounted to the measuring points with M8 threads. Depending on the existing threaded holes, adapters with alternative thread sizes or adhesive adapters can be used.
